Strategic Robotic Systems ("SRS", "we", "us") designs and manufactures the FUSION hybrid underwater vehicle. This policy explains what personal data we collect through srsfusion.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

It covers visitors to this website. It does not cover data we process under a contract with a customer, which is governed by that agreement.

We have not appointed a representative in the European Union or the United Kingdom under Article 27 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are in either territory you can contact us directly using the details above, and you retain the right to complain to your local supervisory authority as described in the Complaints section below.


What personal data we collect

 Data you give us

When you complete a contact form, request a quote, apply for a role or email us, we collect the information you provide. This is typically your name, email address, telephone number, employer and the content of your enquiry.

Data collected automatically

When you visit the site we may collect your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, operating system, the pages you view, the time and duration of your visit, and the site or search term that referred you. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies, and only where you have consented to the relevant category. See the Cookies and similar technologies section below.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect special category data, such as health, biometric or political data, through this website. We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

 

How we use your data, and our lawful basis

Under the GDPR we must have a lawful basis for each purpose. Ours are set out below.

  • Responding to enquiries and quote requests. Uses your contact details and the content of your enquiry. Lawful basis: steps taken at your request before entering a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), or our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Managing customer and distributor relationships. Uses contact details and correspondence. Lawful basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
  • Recruitment. Uses the details in your application. Lawful basis: steps taken at your request before entering a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
  • Understanding how the website is used, so we can improve it. Uses usage data collected through analytics cookies. Lawful basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
  • Marketing communications about our products. Uses contact details and engagement data. Lawful basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.
  • Keeping the site secure and available. Uses IP address and request logs. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in protecting our systems (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Meeting legal, export control and accounting obligations. Uses data as required. Lawful basis: compliance with a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).

A cookie is a small file stored on your device by a website. We use cookies to make the site work, to understand how it is used, and to support our marketing.

Only strictly necessary cookies are set before you make a choice. Analytics and marketing cookies are held inactive until you accept the relevant category in our cookie banner. You can accept all, reject all, or choose categories individually, and rejecting is as easy as accepting.

Analytics cookies

Set only with your consent. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are used and how visitors reach us. We do not use analytics data to identify you personally.

  • _ga_JV0VQJN5EY. Set by Google. Maintains session state for our Google Analytics 4 property. Lasts 2 years.

Marketing cookies

Set only with your consent. We use HubSpot to manage enquiries and to understand which content leads people to contact us.

  • hubspotutk. Set by HubSpot. Identifies a visitor across sessions and links form submissions to that visitor. Lasts 6 months.
  •  __hstc. Set by HubSpot. Records visit timing and count. Lasts 6 months.
  •  __hssc. Set by HubSpot. Tracks the current session. Lasts 30 minutes.
  •  __hssrc. Set by HubSpot. Detects whether the browser session has restarted. Lasts for the session.


Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it with the following recipients.

  • Google LLC, United States. Website analytics through Google Analytics 4.
  • HubSpot, Inc., United States. Customer relationship management, contact forms and marketing email.
  • Cloudflare, Inc., United States and its global network. Content delivery, security and protection against automated traffic.
  • OVH, United Kingdom. Website hosting.
  • General Oceans group companies, which operate in Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Australasia. Group administration and coordinated sales support.

We may also disclose personal data where we are required to do so by law, in response to a valid request from a public authority, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. If our business is transferred, we will tell you before your data becomes subject to a different policy.


International transfers

We are based in the United States and several of our providers are located there. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your personal data will be transferred outside your home territory.

Where we transfer personal data from the EEA or the UK to the United States, we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension. Google, HubSpot and Cloudflare are each certified under that framework. Our website hosting is provided from the United Kingdom and does not involve a transfer out of the UK.

Transfers to General Oceans group companies are made on the basis of appropriate safeguards under Chapter V of the GDPR.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy.

  • Enquiries that do not lead to a customer relationship: 24 months from your last contact with us.
  • Customer and distributor records: for the duration of the relationship and 7 years afterwards, to meet accounting, warranty and export control obligations.
  • Applications from unsuccessful candidates: 12 months.
  • Website analytics data: 14 months, after which Google Analytics deletes it automatically.
  • Marketing contacts: until you withdraw consent or ask us to stop, after which your details are suppressed so that we do not contact you again.


Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights over your personal data. These rights are not absolute and some apply only in particular circumstances.

  • Access. Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification. Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erasure. Ask us to delete your data where we no longer need it, or where you have withdrawn consent and we have no other basis for keeping it.
  • Restriction. Ask us to pause our use of your data while a concern is resolved.
  • Portability. Ask for the data you gave us in a structured, commonly used, machine readable format, or ask us to send it to another organisation.
  • Objection. Object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests, and object at any time to direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent. Where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time. This does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it. For cookies, use the Manage Cookie Preferences control in the footer.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month. We do not charge a fee, and we may ask you to confirm your identity before we act.


Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first so that we can try to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls and supplier due diligence. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

 

Children

This website is intended for business users and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, where we rely on consent to provide an online service to a child, that consent must be given or authorised by a person with parental responsibility if the child is under the applicable age, which is 16 in some countries and as low as 13 in others. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.


Links to other sites

Our site links to sites we do not control, including LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. This policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their policies before providing personal data.


Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the date at the top. Where changes are significant, we will give you a more prominent notice.
